My Christmas Present to you...

I thought I'd give you a little something...a little piece of myself. I know I share my opinions with you when I post on my blog, but this is more personal. My mom said something the other day that was so profound that I truly had to think about it and I had a personal tragedy hit our family today that was beyond devastating and here is the thought that she gave, "Forgiveness isn't earned, it's given". I know it's simple, but if you really think about it, whether this time of year or any, we should be letting go of things that hold us back and not only moving forward, but doing better, being better, and loving better. Life is precious and can be taken in an instant. How would each of us feel leaving each relationship we have individually with people close to us if they passed away tomorrow? Any regrets? Anything you'd say to them or do differently? If so, please don't wait. Merry Christmas.

I always appreciate your good example of loving with an open heart. I am always afraid of being hurt and close mine off. I make so many mistakes and need forgiveness myself, so after a really good pout I do try to let go of grudges and move on. It is like the secret and keeping all that negative energy just eats us from the inside out. Thanks for the reminder to try and see the best in people and move on instead of focusing on their imperfections and witholding from them.

We all need forgiveness...that's why I love what my mom said...and it's so simple; she always has the most wise things to say. I think that our pride gets in the way so often; we don't want to be the first to say we're sorry, or we feel that someone else may have done the "bigger wrong" in the situation...it can all get so complicated, but it all comes down to humility and looking at the big picture, and really, how would we want to leave this life? Thank you for your kind words and thoughts.

Really enjoyed your blog today. I guess the older we get the more we realize how important friends and loved ones are.....and how short this life on earth really is. I always say pick the hill you are going to die on....that seems to let a lot of other things pass on. You are a very forgiving person and I have always admired that in you. Stay sweet.
