My top 10 for a happy relationship/marriage (remember, these are just my top 10- they don't have to be yours- and in no particular order):
- Don't sweat the small stuff
- Always concentrate on the positive (you'll find what you're looking for)
- Don't let others determine how you are going to act/who you are going to be (not just your significant other, but others outside your relationship who could be affecting it)
- Always give 110% and don't expect it in return (and if we have a good one, we'll get it)
- Respect each other- don't ever say anything negative about your significant other
- Try and keep a happy home and positive environment for them to come home to (and us)
- Don't discuss anything important after 10pm. If you find yourself getting in a tiff- look at the clock and cut it off- things are truly always better in the morning
- Remember that you two were first in the family (whether you have kids or not really) and nurture that relationship- that's weekly date night for us and getaways often.
- Quitting is not an option
- Love Love LOVE with all your heart, might, mind, and strength
Happy Valentine's day!

I agree, especially with #9! Too many folks give up too quickly.
